Noragami ( ノラガミ , lit. "Stray God") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Adachitoka. It began serialization in Kodansha'southward Monthly Shōnen Magazine in December 2010. The series has been collected into 20-4 tankōbon volumes as of October 2021.

A 12-episode anime television receiver series adaptation by Bones aired from Jan to March 2014. A 13-episode second season, titled Noragami Aragoto, was circulate from October 2015 to December 2015.

Plot [edit]

Hiyori Iki was a normal heart school student until she was involved in a motorbus accident while trying to protect a stranger. This incident causes her soul to frequently slip out of her body, and she becomes enlightened of the being of two parallel worlds: the Near Shore, where regular humans and creatures reside, and the Far Shore, where demons and human souls linger. Through her soul, she meets the foreign, nameless god without a shrine, Yato. Yato is determined to make a name for himself out there by accepting any wishes for five yen, including Hiyori'due south to gear up her trunk. Along with Yato's Regalia — a weapon from a dead human's soul, and named by the god in question — Yukine, the trio go through many adventures struggling with their friendship, identity, and pasts.[three]

Noragami is written and illustrated by Adachitoka. The series premiered in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Mag 'due south January 2011 outcome, released on December half dozen, 2010,[four] and has been compiled into twenty-ii tankōbon volumes between July 15, 2011 and June 17, 2020.[v] The ninth volume was released simultaneously with a limited edition, bundled with a drama CD.[six] Volumes 10 and 11 were released simultaneously with limited editions, each containing an anime episode on DVD.[7] [eight] Extra chapters of the series take been published in the spin-off publication, Monthly Shōnen Magazine + since 2011. The Noragami television series adaptation is produced by Bones and directed past Kotaro Tamura with graphic symbol designs by Toshihiro Kawamoto.[ii] Prior to the series' television set premiere, its starting time episode was screened at 2013's Anime Festival Asia on November 10, 2013.[16] The anime began airing in Japan on Jan 5, 2014,[17] [xviii] on Tokyo MX and afterwards MBS, BS11 and TVA, running for 12 episodes. Besides the television series, two additional episodes were released on DVDs arranged with express editions of the 10th and 11th manga volumes, published February 17 and July 17, 2014.[two] The opening theme song is "Goya no Machiawase" ( 午夜の待ち合わせ , Overnight Appointment), performed by Hello Sleepwalkers. The catastrophe theme song is "Heart Realize" ( ハートリアライズ , Hāto Riaraizu ) with composition by Supercell and performed by Tia.

Funimation licensed the anime for streaming in North America.[2] [19] Post-obit Sony'due south conquering of Crunchyroll, the series was moved to Crunchyroll.[20] Madman Entertainment licensed the anime for distribution in Commonwealth of australia and New Zealand.[21] [22]

A second season, Noragami Aragoto ( ノラガミ ARAGOTO ), aired for 13 episodes from Oct 2, 2015 to December 25, 2015. The opening theme song is "Kyōran Hey Kids!!" ( 狂乱 Hey Kids!! ) past The Oral Cigarettes, and the catastrophe theme song is "Nirvana" ( ニルバナ , Nirubana ) by Tia.[23]

Game [edit]

A mobile game titled Noragami ~Kami to Enishi~ (lit. "Noragami ~Gods and Fate~") was released by developer Sakura Soft for Android devices in October 2015. An iOS release became available on November sixteen, 2015.[24] [25]

Noragami was the 14th elevation selling manga serial in Japan during the first half of 2014.[26]
